BIM

Building Smarter. Building with Greater Confidence.

At Urban Building Contracting Ltd. (UBC), we believe successful construction starts with better planning, better coordination, and better information.

Through our strategic partnership with MG BIM Partners Inc., UBC is expanding its construction capabilities with advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital construction solutions.

Together, we bring digital intelligence into the construction process — helping project teams visualize, coordinate, analyze, and manage projects before and during construction.

From 3D Models to Digital Construction Intelligence

Our BIM capabilities extend beyond visualization. Depending on project requirements, BIM can connect geometry, scheduling, cost, sustainability, asset information, and facility operations into one coordinated digital environment.

Our BIM Capabilities

3D – Visualization & Coordination
Develop coordinated 3D models, identify design conflicts, perform clash detection, and improve constructability before work begins on site.

4D – Schedule & Construction Sequencing
Link the BIM model with the project schedule to visualize construction sequencing, phasing, and progress.

5D – Cost & Quantity Management
Connect model information with quantities and cost data to support quantity take-offs, estimating, change analysis, and cost control.

6D – Sustainability & Building Performance
Integrate energy, carbon, and sustainability information into the digital model to support environmentally responsible project decisions.

7D – Digital Twin & Facility Management
Carry asset information beyond construction into handover and facility operations, supporting maintenance, asset management, and lifecycle decision-making.

Scan-to-BIM & Existing Conditions
Capture existing buildings and infrastructure using reality-capture technologies and convert point-cloud information into accurate as-built BIM models.

Why BIM Matters to UBC Projects

BIM allows project stakeholders to build it on screen first — identifying potential issues and improving coordination before they become costly problems in the field.

Our integrated approach can help:

  • Improve design and construction coordination
  • Identify clashes before installation and fabrication
  • Improve communication between project stakeholders
  • Visualize construction sequencing and project progress
  • Support more accurate quantity and cost information
  • Improve change management and decision-making
  • Strengthen as-built documentation
  • Support efficient project handover and facility management
Meticulous Planning

A Structured, Open BIM Approach Our BIM partnership follows an open and collaborative approach based on ISO 19650 information-management principles and vendor-neutral IFC workflows, supporting interoperability and maintaining portable project data. The process can include:

Meticulous Planning

A Structured, Open BIM Approach Our BIM partnership follows an open and collaborative approach based on ISO 19650 information-management principles and vendor-neutral IFC workflows, supporting interoperability and maintaining portable project data. The process can include:

01. Discovery

Project brief, stakeholder requirements, and scope definition.

02. BIM Execution Planning

BIM Execution Plan (BEP), responsibilities, information requirements, and Common Data Environment (CDE) configuration.

03. Modeling

3D–7D model development, appropriate Level of Development (LOD), and federated coordination.

04. Coordination

Clash detection, RFI resolution, multidisciplinary review, and coordination cycles.

05. Delivery & Handover

Model validation, as-built BIM documentation, asset information, and facility-management integration.

Powered by Strategic BIM Expertise

Through our partnership with MG BIM Partners Inc., UBC can access a Canadian construction-intelligence network with experience spanning North America, Europe, and the MENA region. MG BIM Partners describes its network as covering the full 3D–7D spectrum, with experience across buildings, aviation, transportation, energy, infrastructure, urban development, heritage, telecom, and data facilities.

The partnership combines UBC’s construction and project-management experience with specialized BIM and digital-engineering capabilities.

Selected BIM Project Experience

The MG BIM Partners network includes experience on major projects such as:

  • Golden Pass LNG – Texas, USA — 3D, 4D and 5D BIM applications for a major energy project.
  • Midfield Terminal Building – Abu Dhabi, UAE — BIM management, QA/QC, coordination, clash detection, quantity extraction, and handover.
  • ADNOC Headquarters – Abu Dhabi, UAE — as-built BIM consolidation and integration with facility-management systems.
  • Piraeus Tower – Athens, Greece — BIM management and QA/QC from design through handover.
  • Qatar Foundation – Doha, Qatar — 7D BIM for facilities management and operations.
  • Djezzy Telecom Digital Twin – Algeria — Scan-to-BIM, IoT integration, digital-twin dashboards, and asset monitoring.
